Active Occupational Therapy is a registered service provider with NDIS, Medicare, Northern Territory Government Top End Health Service, Private Insurers, and Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Driving

Driving is often an important part of a person’s lifestyle, representing freedom and independence. Any changes or loss of function in any one of these abilities due to ageing, illness or injury, may affect a person’s ability to drive. Active Occupational Therapy provides on and off-road assessments and reports for learner, fitness to drive, senior safety and vehicle modifications.

 

Activity of Daily Living assessment and retraining

Active Occupational Therapy provides assessment and task specific re-training including use of compensatory aids to individuals with a neurological impairment residing in the community who have difficulties performing daily activities.

Aged Care Services

Occupational therapists play a key role in providing Aged Care services to support older people to live at home for as long as they wish and can do so safely. Our comprehensive services aim to assist older people to maintain or regain their ability to participate in meaningful activities of daily living.

 

Assistive Technology

People use equipment, technology, and devices every day to make their lives easier. Active Occupational Therapy provides support to individuals in the selection, use and application for funding of assistive technology.

Cognitive Re-training

Active Occupational Therapy provides cognitive-based rehabilitation for people who experience perceptual, attention, concentration, executive functioning, apraxia, and spatial awareness difficulties.

 

Home Modifications 

Home modifications are changes to the structure, layout, design or fittings of a participant’s home that are required as a result of a disability.

 

Neurological Upper Limb Therapy

Upper limb impairment is a common problem for people with neurological disabilities, affecting activity, performance, quality of life, and independence.

 

Supported Independent Living Assessments

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is help or supervision with daily tasks to help you live as independently as possible, while building your skills.

 

Specialised Disability Accommodation Assessments

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a range of housing designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high needs.
