Position Overview
We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team in Darwin. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with mature aged individuals and with varying disabilities to promote independence, improve daily living skills, and enhance overall quality of life. Your expertise will be instrumental in assisting clients to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential through the use of therapeutic interventions and adaptive strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional abilities, identifying areas of impairment and formulating individualised treatment plans.

Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and develop appropriate goals to address clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.

Collaborate with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring optimal outcomes.

Educate clients, caregivers, and families on strategies to maximize independence and enhance overall well-being.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.

Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in the field of occupational therapy, applying evidence-based practices in your work.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Demonstrated experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a similar clinical setting.

Sound knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and best practices.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and effectively communicate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Current driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for home visits (if applicable).
